Caledonian Crescent Resurfacing

Edinburgh Council's Dalry Side Streets Project will begin resurfacing Caledonian Crescent on Monday 17 August 2026. The work is expected to take approximately four working days.
Important information
- Work will normally take place between 8:00am and 5:00pm.
- Caledonian Crescent will be closed for the duration of the works.
- A signed vehicle diversion route will be in place.
- No parking will be permitted on Caledonian Crescent.
- Vehicle access will be very limited while resurfacing is underway.
- Street signs will confirm the temporary parking restrictions.
- Communal refuse bins will be temporarily moved to adjacent streets.
- Vehicles must not be left within coned-off areas and may be removed.
- James Square is situated at the edge of the resurfacing area, so disruption within the development itself should be kept to a minimum.

Access pend update
The road immediately outside James Square will be assessed after resurfacing to determine whether any alterations are required to the access pend. If further restrictions or work are needed, residents will receive advance notice and efforts will be made to minimise disruption.
